Parents, Teachers, Families, for our Children

Welcome to Silsoe Lower School and welcome to the PTA

All parents, carers, teachers and governors are automatically considered members of our PTA. We have a core committee comprising of Co-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Communications officer

Jeanette Manrique – Co-Chair
Helen Radford – Co-Chair
Rebecca Massie – Treasurer
Sheila Okello -Secretary
Michelle Stacey – Communications Officer

The Silsoe PTA also operates with a small number of co-opted members. We are always looking for more members and helpers to run large events for the children.

The PTA is currently very short on members and only consists of the current core members above.

This means it hasn’t been possible to showcase to parents how PTA funds contribute to the children’s experience during their time at school. We are looking for several co-opted members and people who just attend meetings when they can.

Together we work towards raising funds to buy additional resources for the school and children to provide a more enriched learning experience.

18th October | PTA Meeting | Star & Garter | 19:30

We are looking to put on our usual and some new fun events for both children and parents/carers and family to get involved in.

Events include Christmas events, design your own water bottle and the Rainbow Run. Also, Christmas events (carol singing; Christmas raffle; Secret Santa shop) we also organise our infamous PTA Quiz night, Give A Book! Fundraiser and book donation scheme, and the hugely popular school Discos.

The on-going support and incredibly generous donations received from our school families allows our children to benefit from additional resources that the school budget alone cannot stretch to. These are some of the things we have purchased in the last few years:

  • Christmas Pantomime for all Children
  • Christmas Party Boxes
  • Playground Play Equipment and Playground Markings (approx. £10,000)
  • New Library Resources
  • Eco Warrior Resources
  • PE Equipment and Lunchtime Games
  • Weather Station
  • Window Shades for the Hall
  • New Laptops
  • New Books for Oak Class
  • Planting for School
  • Remembrance Garden

We also contribute towards school travel costs each year, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.

You can support our School. We would like to enhance outdoor learning for our pupils by creating a forest school. This would help the development of a relationship between the child and the natural world.
